Following a story published last week about the parliament’s order stopping LDC from conducting Online studies, a group of students through their guild representatives of both the Kampala and Mbarara branches have petitioned parliament to allow them continue with their online classes.

The LDC guild house through its speaker Alex Nuwahesreza wrote a letter attached with their petition addressing it to the speaker of parliament requesting her to reconsider the parliament’s decision made on 17th June.

“The students guild having been dismayed by the actions of parliament on 17th June 2020 was compelled to draw a petition to dispel the false, malicious and misleading information that compelled Hon. Elijah Okupa (MP Kasilo County) to put up a question before the plenary that was presided over by you which led the ministry of education to issue a statement before the house stopping the online studies by the Law Development Centre (LDC).” Says a letter dated Monday 22nd June.

Hon. Okupa moved a motion to stop the online classes at the Law Development Center and it was further supported by the house but the LDC guild has denied allegations of preparing online examinations on an expensive of 20,000Shs per student.

Another copy of the petition has been delivered to the education minister’s office.
