The Director General Health, Dr. Mwebesa, says the government of Uganda has priotized vaccination of the population against COVID-19 as one of the key requirements for the full reopening of the economy and health workers have been given priority to take the jab.

He further noted that he is aware that some health workers are yet to complete the two doses of vaccination or even to receive the first dose of the same.

Following the above, Dr. Mwebesa instructed all unvaccinated health workers to stay away from their places of work until they get vaccinated.
