The arrests occurred over the weekend after a former employee, Patricia Nahabwe, alerted local authorities about alleged hömösëxuality practices at the establishment.
Nahabwe, who had been terminated from her position at the parlor without compensation, reported the termination and hömösëxuality claims to the area’s defense secretary.
Nahabwe stated, “I was brought to work at Cloud 9 by Patricia Nantume, but she has now fired me without paying. We have been massaging clients and engaging in oral and anal sexual activities. Most of our clients are of Indian origin and they pay us for engaging in anal sëx,” as conveyed to the defense secretary.
Hellen Butoto, the police spokesperson for the Ssezibwa Region, verified that Nahabwe provided consistent details about the activities at Cloud 9, prompting the involvement of the police and the initiation of an operation.
“The practice has been ongoing, but due to financial reasons, they would agree to it. She also informed us that the business owner (Nantume) possesses an artificial penis (vibrator) which she employs on the female staff working at the massage parlor.
These acts are recorded and shared on TikTok,” Butoto explained.
Enanga elaborated, “The scene was meticulously documented, leading to the arrest of four suspects to aid in the ongoing investigation. A search was executed, yielding various items, including an artificial penis, shisha flavor packets, bottles of oils for massage or lubrication for anal sëx, and four tripods used to mount cameras for recording activities posted on TikTok.”
Notably, Uganda recently enacted legislation criminalizing hömösëxuality, following approval by President Yoweri Museveni.
This legal change has resulted in numerous arrests related to hömösëxuality in areas like Buikwe, Jinja, and Iganga.
Many of the individuals apprehended have been discovered recording and sharing their activities on social media platforms such as TikTok and YouTube.
