A tragic road accident occurred on Awindiri Market Road in Adjumani town council, resulting in the loss of two lives and severe injuries to one person.
The incident took place on Friday, July 14, around midnight and involved a boda-boda motorcycle with three riders, registered as UEY 961 E, and a vehicle numbered UAY 092 D driven by James Mondo.

James Mondo is not only a humanitarian worker but also the proprietor of a secondary school in Adjumani.
The police spokesperson for the North West Nile region, SP Dragudu Ignatius, confirmed the occurrence and identified the deceased individuals as 36-year-old Anyovi Vincent Lokecha, a resident of Ofua sub-county, and 30-year-old Kenyan citizen Kangepoe Kimare Charles.
The sole survivor is Sifa Ashraf.

The bodies of the deceased have been handed over to their respective families for burial, while the driver of the involved vehicle is cooperating with the police investigation.
A traffic police officer attached to the North West Nile region mentioned that road accidents are prevalent in Moyo, Adjumani, Yumbe, and Obongi districts, mainly due to speeding, drink driving, and reckless behavior of motorists.
