The Kiira Region Police are currently conducting an investigation into the suspected poisoning of a 40-year-old man. After receiving his winnings on Friday evening, he decided to celebrate by going to a local establishment known as Lyagooba, situated in Mafubira Ward, Northern Division, within Jinja City. There, he ordered various types of alcoholic beverages, with friends present to cheer him on.
Mubi has pointed out that on Saturday morning, Kakende’s lifeless body was discovered outside the same bar. This discovery has raised suspicions as it suggests that he may have passed away within the bar premises, and his body was subsequently placed outside in an attempt to conceal any evidence of what transpired.
Furthermore, Mubi has mentioned that on Saturday morning, the bar was found closed, and its management was nowhere to be found. This has intensified concerns about the possibility of poisoning or foul play.
Kakende’s body has been transported to the mortuary at Jinja Regional Referral Hospital, awaiting a postmortem examination before it can be released to his family for burial.
Mubi has indicated that the investigation is ongoing, with detectives actively searching for the owners of the bar to obtain information regarding the circumstances leading up to Kakende’s untimely demise.
In addition to the investigation, Mubi has issued a warning to the public regarding the perils of excessive alcohol consumption, emphasizing the associated health risks and the potential for fatal outcomes.
