The anti-corruption court has remanded State Minister for Finance and Planning Hon. Amos Lugoloobi to Luzira Prison till April 20th as the presiding judge at the Kololo anti-corruption court requested for more time to rule on bail.
The Minister had presented 5 sureties to stand for him as his legal team cited advanced age and ill health as grounds to allow him to battle the 2 counts of corruption and abuse of office from outside.
The Minister is the 2nd government official to face the dock in line with the diversion of Karamoja iron sheets.
The judge said he could not hurriedly approve bail as he needed more time to assess the 65 pages and documents presented by Lugoloobi’s legal team.
