Busoga Kingdom’s Premier, Dr. Joseph Muvawala, refuted allegations that Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV is married to another woman. Lawyers for Anna Alison, a UK-based woman, claimed in a letter to Archbishop Stephen Kazimba that their client was legally married to the Kyabazinga, stating any other marriage would be considered bigamy.
Scheduled to marry Jovia Mutesi on November 18, 2023, Gabula faced accusations that Muvawala dismissed as an attempt to tarnish the King and his subjects. Addressing journalists, Muvawala noted the absence of a marriage certificate, required for proof, in Allison’s lawyers’ petition.
The Kingdom formally reported the matter to the police, launching investigations that led to undisclosed arrests. Muvawala announced the initiation of civil and criminal proceedings against those involved in the alleged scheme to tarnish the Kyabazinga’s name.
In a separate event, Muvawala received a 51 Million Shillings contribution from Kaliro High School, along with 150 crates of soda, 100 cartons of plastic soda, and 100 cartons of water from Century Bottling Company on Saturday.
