In Luwero, the authorities have detained a commercial sex worker named Grace Namanya, 33, after she allegedly fatally stabbed her client during an argument over payment.
The incident occurred at Nankulabye trading center in Bamunanika sub-county, Luwero district, at around 10 pm on Sunday night. The victim, Moses Bakka, 45, and the suspect both reside in the same village.
According to the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson, Sam Twiineamazima, initial investigations reveal that Bakka visited Namanya’s residence and offered her Shillings 4000 for sex, but she demanded Shillings 10,000 instead.

When Bakka resorted to force during the disagreement, a fight broke out, and Namanya allegedly picked up a knife and fatally stabbed him.
After the incident, Namanya fled the scene but was later apprehended by the police from a hideout in Kikyusa town.
Eriab Ssemanda, the LC 1 Chairman of Nankulabye, shared that the deceased leaves behind three children from his previous marriage.
This tragedy follows another recent incident where a couple, William Lugemwa, 45, and Jesca Payesu, 35, were arrested for causing the death of their seven-month-old baby during a fight related to allegations of infidelity.
In addition to this, Luwero has experienced a concerning number of domestic violence cases. In 2022, there were 501 reported cases of domestic violence, making Luwero the second district with the highest number of such cases nationwide.
The district also recorded 58 homicide cases, ranking it eighth in the country for the highest number of homicides.
These incidents highlight the significance of addressing violence and conflict resolution in the community to ensure a safer environment for its residents.
