The high court in Rukungiri A traditional healer in Rukungiri has been sentenced to 40 years in prison over murder of his closest friend.
High court presided over by Justice Tom Kyemutei made this judgement on Wednesday 12th April 2023.
The sentenced was known as Suleiman Mugisha called his friend Mutabazi who was butcher at Bwambara trading centre to find him at his home in Rweshama urgently.
This was on 20th April 2022 and Mutabazi disappeared until his body was found wrapped in a sack near Lake Edward in Rweshama fishing village with some of his parts missing.
It’s alleged that Suleiman Mugisha sacrificed Mutabazi to his small gods. It was alleged that his god had asked him for body parts of his son or closest friend and he opted to use a friend instead of his own child. Mugisha who has been doing his job in Rweshama Rukungiri migrated from Rubirizi to work in Rukungiri.

Before passing judgment, Suleiman Mutabazi, 44 years old, asked for lenient punishment as his wife and one of the children are also in prison on the same offence and the rest of the family members are lonely at home.
