Today 10th June 2020, the ministry of health has announced the confirmation of 8 more COVID-19 patients bringing the total to 665.
All the 11 new confirmed cases are Ugandans among all the total of 2,423 samples tested.
4 of the confirmed cases were among the 1388 samples taken from truck drivers who entered the country through the boarder points of Mutukula and Elegu.
The rest are among the 1035 samples from contacts and alerts from Amuru, Kayunga and Kyotera Districts.
All the samples of health workers tested negative for COVID-19 and 31 foreign truck drivers (16 Kenyans, 8 Tanzanians, 5 Eritreans, 1 Burundian and 1 South Sudane) tested positive but were forced to go back to their countries.
The total number of recoveries remains at 118 without any death and the ministry of health continues to ask Ugandans to stick to the guidelines availed by the health workers.
