Police in Sheema District are currently searching for the individuals responsible for the killing of a former primary school teacher, whose motive for the attack remains unknown.
According to Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for the greater Bushenyi police, the victim has been identified as Alexander Atwiine, aged 46, and a resident of Kyagaju Central Cell in Kyagaju Ward, Kabwohe Division, Sheema Municipality, Sheema District.

The incident reportedly occurred on September 15, 2023, around 10:00 AM when a person named Ssenyondo, who was on his way to make bricks, discovered Atwiine’s lifeless body in his brickyard. Ssenyondo promptly reported the discovery to the police.
Upon investigation, a team of detectives arrived at the scene of the crime in Sheema, where they found the deceased in a prone position near a brick pond. Atwiine was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, and his clothes were heavily soiled, suggesting a possible struggle with his assailants.
The body, which exhibited several minor fresh bruises, was still relatively fresh when discovered. It was subsequently transported to Kabwohe Health Center IV for a postmortem examination, as confirmed by Tumusiime.
A relative of the deceased, identified as Derrick Kakuru, informed the media that Atwiine had recently suffered from mental health issues, which had led him to turn to alcohol. Losing his teaching profession had only added to his challenges.
The incident leading to his tragic death occurred in an isolated area surrounded by bushes, approximately 500 meters away from Kakindo Road.
