Hon. Enos Asiimwe, the Kabula County legislator says he is mooting proposals to see that government procures and prints national IDs for livestock especially cattle in a bid to address the rampant vice of animal theft.
Asiimwe further says that he will unveil his plans to the House today during plenary and rally other legislators to back his idea.
“This Bill if approved shall be of great importance to cattle farmers. No cattle shall be sold on the market without proper documentation and this implies that thieves would be wiped off,” he says. “The Bill intends to address animal theft which has become a common problem these days,” he adds.
He however says the National Identification documents shall be printed at a cost met by the farmers.
