Janzi Awards happened for the first time over the weekend in a luxurious and pompous ceremony.
These awards in their inaugural year sought to award the different personalities in the different sectors of the creative and arts industry.

“The government is setting up 21 industrial parks and I will talk to him so that we dedicate one to the creative industry. The Janzi Awards is here to harmonize the creative industry for all. Uganda for Us, Us for Uganda.” Said the guest of honor, the government chief whip Hon Thomas Tayebwa.
There were a number of performances from the likes of Apass, Sheebah, Karole Kasita, Lilian Mbabazi, Liam Voice, Moses Matovu among others.
The event that was hosted TV personality Karitas Karisimbi, comedian Mark Agaba and Isaac Rucci had a red carpet session, live perfomances and many other entertainment sessions.
The red carpet session was hosted by Lynda Ddane, Crysto Panda and Sheba Martha.
Big winners of the night such included Pia Pounds, Pallaso, Sheebah and many others.
