A lawyer from Kampala was killed by unknown attackers as he returned to his home. The incident occurred on Monday night in Kitiko Birongo, Ndejje division, Makindye Ssaabagabo, Wakiso district.
The lawyer, Ronnie Mukisa, 45, who worked at IBC Advocates in Kampala, was shot and killed by assailants riding a motorcycle.
According to initial reports, Mukisa typically returned home late, but on the night of the incident, he arrived at the apartment parking lot around 11:00 PM. After parking his dark blue Subaru Legacy (registration number UBJ 006K) and closing the gate, gunshots were heard by neighbors as he was heading back to the apartment.
Eyewitnesses stated that an unidentified person shot at Mukisa, briefly withdrew, and then returned to shoot him multiple times at close range in the head.
The assailant quickly fled the scene on a motorcycle, and their direction of escape remains unknown. Kajjansi Police Station dispatched a team to the scene, and canines were introduced to aid in the investigation.
Despite efforts, the scent trail was lost, but four projectiles and cartridges were found during a thorough search of the area.
Mukisa’s body was recovered and taken to the City Mortuary for postmortem examination. The police are currently conducting investigations to determine the motive behind the attack.
