The individual at the center of this tragedy is Assistant Inspector of Police David Ogwang, whose professional role places him within the Counter Terrorism police unit.
Employing a firearm whose serial number remains unidentified, AIP David Ogwang is alleged to have tragically ended the life of his spouse.
The victim, identified as Corporal Atino Jennifer, was no stranger to the police force herself. She served in the Very Important Person Protection Unit (VIPPU) of the Police, stationed at the Parliament.
Her promising career was tragically cut short in the midst of this heartbreaking incident.
Kampala Metropolitan Police’s spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, disclosed that this heart-wrenching episode stemmed from a deeply regrettable misunderstanding between the once-devoted couple.
