Geoffrey Osborn Ochieng, the Resident District Commissioner, has confirmed the ongoing probe. He stated that his office received complaints from locals regarding the wrongful participation of their leaders in the program.
According to Ochieng, instances of this nature have been reported in Paloga Sub-County, involving individuals such as teachers and councillors.
Ochieng has further explained that his office has summoned the implicated leaders and civil servants to provide their defense.
He has also issued a warning that if they are found guilty, they will be required to reimburse the funds they received or face legal prosecution.
This marks the second investigation of its kind, with a prior case involving the Chairpersons of Padibe and Katum Sub-Counties.
These officials were compelled to return 1,000,000 shillings each, as they had irregularly received these funds under the PDM program.
