Magufuli Declares Tanzania Free Of Corona Virus

Tanzania’s president H.E John Pombe Magufuli has declared Tanzania free of Corona virus according to what he has always been talking. “The corona disease has been eliminated thanks to God,” Mr Magufuli told worshipers in a church in the capital, Dodoma.
The country which stoped publishing data on the number of corona virus cases in April stopped its citizens from wearing masks, gloves and all other protective gear to the novel Corona virus epidemic.
Magufuli also on Friday last week during a teachers’ conference declared the country free of Corona and added on that some of the donations to fight corona virus could instead be used to transmit the virus to his citizens and precautioned them about their usage.
“I want to urge you Tanzanians not to accept donations of masks, instead tell the donors to go and use them with their wives and children,” he added.
It is also remembered that he’s one of the African presidents that ordered the herbal tonic touted by the president of Madagascar as a cure for Covid-19. It is unclear if it has been given to patients in Tanzania.
On 29 April, the last day official data was released, there were 509 cases, with 21 deaths in Tanzania. However, Mr Magufuli said last week that only four patients were receiving treatment in the largest city, Dar es Salaam.
Although Magufuli says all this, the Word Health Organization (WHO) has showed continued concern on the government’s strategies of fighting COVID-19.
