According to Twaha Kasirye, the police spokesperson for Greater Masaka, the driver of the Global bus with license plate UBB 985M, lost control on the wet road due to the heavy morning rainfall.
One individual is reported to have sustained severe injuries, while other wounded individuals have been taken to nearby medical facilities.
“Local authorities and bystanders promptly responded by transporting the injured individuals to nearby health centers. We are currently awaiting ambulances to transfer them to Masaka Referral Hospital for more advanced medical treatment,” explained Kasirye.
He further mentioned that they will provide more information about the accident when it becomes available.
In the meantime, the police are advising drivers to be cautious about excessive speed on wet roads, especially during this rainy season, to prevent such accidents from occurring.
