Dr. Mary Goretti Kitutu, Karamoja Affairs Minister and her brother Michael Naboya Kitutu were on April 6 remanded to Luzira prison will today appear at the anti-corruption court in Kololo for her bail application hearing.
The minister is on charges of causing loss of public property and conspiracy to defraud in connection with the iron sheets diversion.
The Mbale Diocese Bishop John Wilson Nandaah and a delegation of MPs in the Bugisu Parliamentary Forum yesterday visited the minister and assured her that they would do all possible to secure for her bail.
President Museveni yesterday asked the Ministers who unconsciously received the diverted Karamoja iron sheets to surrender them back to the office of the Prime Minister or cash amounting to the items they took.
He defined the heist as corruption and pursuit of ‘cheap popularity’ by politicians who want to ‘bribe their electorate’.

Museveni also said he would take political action on the implicated ministers soon as the criminal investigations are completed.
This publication understands that at least 8 more ministers are to be prosecuted by the end of this week and they include Hon. Fred Kyakulaga, Hon. Matia Kasaija, Hon. Agnes Nanduttu, the Speaker Anita Among, Hon. Rukia Nakadaama, Robinah Nabbanja and Jacob Oboth Oboth among others.
