Police detectives yesterday pitched camp outside parliament after Ministers on the Karamoja iron sheets beneficiaries were hiding in their offices.
Under ordinary protocol, police and sister security agencies are not allowed to enter parliament to effect an arrest for a Minister or Member of Parliament.
A source within the anti-corruption unit has disclosed to this publication that Minister for lands Judith Nabakooba and her counterpart state Minister for Karamoja Agnes Nanduttu refused to vacate their offices since the learnt that they are the next to be netted over the diverted Karamoja iron sheets.
“We will stage outside the parliament gate even if it’s for a month. Every Minister who benefited will be arrested,” a state house Anti-Corruption unit source says. “We will follow the law and prosecute all these ministers,” adds the source.
In the course of the week, two Head teachers in Mityana district were arrested by police detectives after their schools were found with the stolen Karamoja iron sheets.

It is reported that when the iron sheets saga gained traction, Minister Judith Nabakooba dropped iron sheets at around 1am at one of the Mityana schools and deceived the head teachers that it was a donation from government.
