The delay in deployment was due to factors beyond the ministry’s control, as stated in a press release shared on its Twitter account.
To accommodate and provide for the interns, the Government will deploy the 1,901 Medical Interns within the budget, offering each intern a net monthly allowance of one million shillings.
Dr. Henry Mwebesa, the director general of health services, emphasized that all Medical Interns must report to their respective training centers by 3rd August 2023.
The Interns will receive deployment letters and undergo induction, which will be organized by the respective Hospital Directors.
