In Nakaseke, the police have initiated a search for an unidentified man who enticed a six-year-old student returning from school, sexually assaulted her, and tragically took her life.
According to ASP Sam Twiineamazima, the police spokesperson for the Savannah region, the incident occurred on a Friday around 2 pm in Kirangazi village, Katugo parish, Ngoma subcounty, Nakaseke district.

The victim, Happy Komugisha, a six-year-old student at Apex Model Primary School, was walking back from school with other pupils when the suspect approached her.
Reportedly, the suspect persuaded the victim to enter a field near the road to help collect firewood. Subsequently, the other pupils heard the victim cry out and ran away, eventually informing a man of the distressing situation.
ASP Twiineamazima stated that the suspect first sexually assaulted the six-year-old victim and then used her underwear to commit the heinous act.
Upon receiving information from a local resident named Moses Ntegeka, the police promptly responded. They visited the scene, documented it, examined the victim’s body with the help of medical professionals, and gathered statements from witnesses. A murder case has been opened as the search for the suspect continues.
