Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango has officially confirmed this incident.
Upon the discovery of the explosive, the church, which is under the leadership of Pastor Robert Kayanja, had to be evacuated immediately.
The bomb, located at the entrance of Miracle Centre Cathedral, was safely detonated by police explosives experts. It’s worth noting that the church typically accommodates a large congregation every Sunday.
This occurrence follows a prior warning issued by the British High Commission in July, indicating that Uganda was potentially susceptible to acts of terrorism.
The advisory urged British nationals to exercise caution and avoid crowded places such as churches, bars, markets, and taxi parks.
