In Rubirizi District, law enforcement officials have apprehended a 40-year-old man on suspicion of murdering his wife and three children.
This tragic incident was confirmed by Martial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for the Greater Bushenyi Police, and it took place on Saturday, September 9, in Munyonyi A Cell, Munyonyi Parish, Katanda Sub-County.

The suspect has been identified as Denis Owoyesigyire, also known as Boy, and he is alleged to have killed his wife, Asanansi Musimenta, aged 28, along with her three children: Andrew Akandwanaho, aged 4, Javira Akanyijuka, aged 3, and two-month-old Davis Atwijukire.
Preliminary reports suggest that Owoyesigyire returned home late at night after a drinking spree, leading to a heated argument with his wife.
Tragically, this escalated to violence, resulting in the death of his wife and children through cutting and stabbing. Subsequently, he fled the scene.
Tumusiime further disclosed that the Police were able to locate and apprehend the suspect at his father’s residence. As the investigation unfolds, the bodies of the victims have been transported to Rugazi Health Centre IV for a postmortem examination.
This is indeed a distressing and tragic incident, and authorities are diligently working to uncover the full details and circumstances surrounding this horrifying event.
