The spokesperson for the parliament Chris Obore, has stated that Ssegirinya’s departure for medical treatment was not communicated to the medical board beforehand.
This comes after Ssegirinya’s relatives expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of financial assistance from the parliament.

They highlight that other parliament members who have faced illness and sought medical treatment abroad have received financial aid in the past.
The relatives and supporters of the Member of Parliament for Kawempe North, Mohammed Ssegirinya, are considering the possibility of arranging a fundraising campaign.
This initiative aims to collect funds to cover his medical expenses in the Netherlands, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
Ssegirinya’s medical condition prompted his transfer to the Netherlands a month ago. This decision was made in consultation with medical professionals in his home country.
Kawempe North elected Member of Parliament, Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya was reportedly rushed back to the hospital after fainting and in a worrying state as his lungs, liver and other internal organs damaged in July this year.
