The Uganda police force has finally come out to talk about the trending “fake news” spread by different people across social media pinning the institution for delivering old out fashioned fire rescue trucks to Masasi City.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the institution through its spokesperson Afande CP Fred Enanga said that the institution can’t do this and went ahead to nullify whatever is spreading on social media.
REPORT.
Our concern has been drawn to a post making rounds on social media that the above vehicle was given to Masaka Region.
This is not true. Our Director Fire and Rescue Services, AIGP Joseph Mugisa, was in the region to carryout a needs assessment after which new fire fighting equipment will be given to the Region.
Disregard the social media version with all the contempt it deserves.

The spreading “fake news” have been seen on various verified news sources including one of the oldest radio in the region known as Radio Simba.
This radio station later on went and changed the news update that they had made, added the real pictures of the vehicles to be delivered to the public and pleaded for forgiveness from whoever their earlier post affected.
More people have reportedly been seen sharing the same pictures even after police came out to nullify them.
Screenshots were also shared in a post made by the Uganda police Facebook page and they’re also attached within this post.
