It’s now over 3 months ever since the president stopped bodabodas from carrying passengers and instead directed the riders to carry cargo as their source of income.
President Museveni on Monday, June 22 insisted that boda boda riders will not be allowed to carry passengers.
These riders have been complaining about the president who has kept on suspending them in every address of the nation that he dies but today they went ahead to protest on the streets of Kampala to show their discomfort.
Frank Mawejje, one of the leaders of a boda boda association has accused President Museveni’s advisors of politicking to prevent commercial cyclists from returning to work. Mawejje heads Smart Bodas based in Kawempe, Kyebando-Nsoba.
The bodaboda riders went ahead to take their unsatisfaction to the streets demanding for the president to allow them work again.
