President Yoweri Museveni announced that Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) successfully targeted Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) terrorists’ bases in the Democratic Republic of Congo on November 14th, 2023.
The operation, carried out 68 km from the border, involved ground attacks, planes, and medium-range artillery, resulting in significant damage to the ADF forces. Some remnants are reported to be fleeing back into Uganda, and efforts are underway to apprehend them.
Addressing the nation, President Museveni emphasized the importance of vigilance among citizens, urging them to be cautious about strangers in their communities, as well as in markets, churches, mosques, and public transport systems.
The president expressed determination in “kuhuura” (threshing or clubbing) the main terrorist groups in Congo and dealing with “empulunguse” (the scattered millet after threshing).
