The family of the fallen security Minister Gen Elly Tumwine has appealed to the top leadership of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces to consider the fact that they still need the fleet of vehicles and VIP protection formerly accorded to the deceased.

Ms. Jolly Tumwine, the widow is said to have raised her concerns to the Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Wilson Mbadi who said he will contemplate the prayer and see if the family is entitled to the said benefits meant for Gen. Tumwine.

At the time of his untimely death, Tumwine was shortlisted amongst the list of top brass UPDF soldiers poised to retire. The function was however made posthumously so that his family can be entitled to the benefits and privileges given to a retired general of Tumwine’s calibre.
