The police in Luwero district are actively investigating a murder case involving a woman who used a plate to kill her husband. The victim, Sgt Cosmas Oriema, was a member of the UPDF and was stationed at Makenke barracks in Mbarara district.

The incident occurred on an undisclosed time on Friday in Kiritimati zone, Luwero town council, within Luwero district. Preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased had purchased a property with a house in Kizito zone, Luwero town council, in an attempt to settle his family.
However, it is alleged that he had been embroiled in a long-standing domestic dispute with his wife, Catherine Asaba, who is the primary suspect in this tragic case.
Reportedly, the couple had been involved in frequent arguments leading up to the fateful day when Asaba used a fragile plate to strike her husband on the head, causing his immediate death.
Following the commission of this crime, the suspect disappeared, and law enforcement authorities are actively searching for her.
As of the time of this report, the police scene of crime officers had sealed off the residence to gather statements from relevant individuals, while the deceased’s body was transported to Kasana Luwero Hospital for a postmortem examination.
This incident comes on the heels of a similar occurrence at Jinja road police barracks, where a police officer shot and killed his wife due to domestic conflicts.
